Introduction
Big Wheel Racing is an international multi-sport racing team. We have members in California, Colorado, New Mexico, Oregon, Wisconsin, Washington, British Columbia, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands and Switzerland. We participate in all types of international, national and local cycling events: mountain, road, cyclocross, triathlons, and adventure races. Team members participate in United States of America Cycling (USAC) races in all disciplines; 12-hr, 24-hr, and 100-mile endurance events, adventure races; and many similar races in Europe and Canada. Many members of Big Wheel Racing compete on single speed bicycles, in both off-road and road events.
Each year, Big Wheel Racing team members make a significant donation to World Bicycle Relief, which is generously matched by our bike shop sponsor, High Desert Bicycles. The donation purchases multiple bicycles and caregivers, providing support for up to patients and families affected by the HIV/AIDS epidemic. See http://www.worldbicyclerelief.org/ for more information.
Big Wheel Racing members also contribute to local cycling and multiuse trail advocacy efforts and we participate in local, regional, and national, mountain biking races, rides, events, and festivals. In 2009 one member became a key coordinator and public relations manager for New Mexico’s first annual 24 hour mountain bike charity event, and many members generously volunteered their time to this event, as well as several others throughout the year. This grassroots involvement will continue in the future. We seek to maintain and also create new partnerships with sponsors who share our interests. Our resume will provide you, a potential Big Wheel Racing Sponsor, with information on the team, its members, and what we seek from sponsors. We seek to maintain and also create new partnerships with sponsors who share our interests.
Objective: Big Wheel Racing wishes to continue development of our team through active promotion of the group, our principles and activities, by wearing team racing apparel at races and events, as well as training rides. In addition, Big Wheel Racing seeks sponsors to help our team members by purchasing ad space on the clothing and our website to help offset the high costs of racing.
The ads can be placed on the team clothing apparel, at a location agreed upon with the sponsor for a small fee ($300 to $700, with the price based on placement). Sponsorship can also come in the form of pro discounts or promotions offered from a company to the members of the group. These types of sponsorships are primarily from national biking, apparel, and nutritional companies, or local service suppliers.
In addition, Big Wheel Racing seeks products, coupons for discounts, or other enticements to be donated to our team to help promote the sponsor’s business and products. We leave it up to the creative imagination of the sponsor to indicate what they wish to provide. We will perform product reviews and promote the products on our website and individual blogs.
